Third GradeThird grade is a very exciting year in music class, as the students are learning how to play recorders. We use a very motivating method called Recorder Karate.

First GradeFirst graders will continue in the same style of the kindergarten, learning to be tuneful, beatful, and artful. They work on using their singing voice, keeping a steady beat, and learning how to say and play simple rhythms.
Fourth GradeThe fourth graders learn about many things, including The Star Spangled Banner, The Nutcracker, instruments of the orchestra, and they continue learning how to read music. They will also be visiting the Cape Ann Symphony.

Second GradeThe main focus of second grade is learning how to speak, play, read, and write simple rhythms, and learning about the instruments of the orchestra.
Fifth GradeFifth grade students start writing their own music, sing canons, have ballroom dancing lessons for the Mad Hot Ball, and will be visiting the Cape Ann Symphony.
